Una fuente de la Agencia Antidrogas Estadounidense (DEA) reveló al semanario mexicano Proceso que, tras el arresto este miércoles de Héctor Beltrán Leyva, enfocarán sus esfuerzos en la detención de Ismael “El Mayo” Zambada.
En una acusación formal interpuesta en 2009 en una corte en Nueva York contra la Federación de Sinaloa por narcotráfico, se acusa a Arturo Beltrán Leyva, Ignacio Coronel Villarreal, Joaquín «El Chapo» Guzmán Loera, Jesús Zambada García, el prófugo Ismael Zambada García y el recientemente detenido Héctor Beltrán Leyva, señala el semanario Proceso.
De los seis acusados, solamente Ismael “El Mayo” Zambada queda prófugo.
Jesús Zambada García, Joaquín El Chapo Guzmán y Héctor Beltrán Leyva han sido arrestados.
Arturo Beltrán Leyva, alias «El Barbas», e Ignacio Coronel Villarreal fueron asesinados, en 2009 y 2010 respectivamente.
En los noventa, estos capos dirigían las operaciones de lo que se conocía como la Federación de Sinaloa, que por disputas internas se dividió entre el Cártel de Sinaloa y el Cártel de los Beltrán Leyva.
El agente de la DEA que cita Proceso, quien pidió no ser identificado, señaló que ahora ha quedado sólo uno de ese grupo de capos por perseguir.
